Check out this fall-inspired journal spread that’s all about letting go and embracing the process. If you’ve ever felt stuck staring at a blank page, I’ve got a trick for you—just start. Whether it’s a quick pencil scribble or some loose marks, the goal is to break that blank-page fear and get things flowing.
For this spread, I leaned into rich fall tones, keeping things simple and layered. I didn’t have a grand plan going in—and that’s the beauty of it. Sometimes, the best pages happen when we don’t overthink or limit ourselves. One decision leads to the next, and before you know it, the spread takes on a life of its own.
The magic happens when you allow yourself to be flexible. My initial thought was to work on just one side, but halfway through, I decided to extend it across the spread. That adaptability is key—it opens up creative possibilities you wouldn’t have planned for.
No page is done in my book, without adding texture! Adding layers, whether through paper, fabric, or marks, is my favorite way to bring depth without overcomplicating things. It’s not about perfection, but about playing for the sake of playing.
